CLEO SIDE TABLE
58 × 47 × 68 cm
c. Mid 20th century
A sculptural side table with dramatic Renaissance Revival detailing, Cleo features a curule-style base inspired by classical Roman forms. At its centre, a carved mask is framed by ribbon-like scrolls and incised ornament — drawing on Italianate traditions, but with a lightness suited to mid-century interiors.
Crafted from richly toned timber identified as mahogany, the piece is finely carved, particularly in the facial features and decorative motifs. A slatted lower shelf adds both structure and visual rhythm.
A striking standalone piece — anchoring a hallway vignette, or placed sculpturally beneath a window or niche.
